Shivalik College of Pharmacy, Nangal is providing advanced technical education in the field of Pharmacy to the youths of this area since 1983. The college is affiliated to IKG Punjab Technical University Jalandhar and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India New Delhi and Govt. of Punjab. The college is being financed by Municipal Council, Nangal and managed by Managing Committee constituted by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab. The Director, Local Government Department, Punjab is the ex-officio Chairman of the Managing Committee.

The college is imparting four years degree course (B. Pharma.) and two years Master's degree courses in Pharmacy with specializations in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The college is well equipped with the latest infrastructure facilities and sophisticated analytical instruments / equipment etc. and has well qualified and experienced faculty. The college supports ethical research in the diverse area of Pharmaceutical Sciences and to achieve this mechanism, CPCSEA-approved Institutional Animal Ethics Committees (IAEC) are in place.

The primary objectives of the college are to offer instructions in Pharmaceutical and Applied Sciences to meet the needs of the healthcare system and also to provide job-oriented training to rural youths to eliminate unemployment in rural backward areas. The college also aims to create awareness in the rural population about the use of indigenous systems of medicine in bringing health happiness and prosperity and to develop close collaboration with pharmaceutical industries and health care providers to exchange personnel, ideas and to undertaker consultancy work and public welfare oriented projects.
